In partnership with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, theater maker Anna Lublina presents the world premiere of her most ambitious project to date, Бабушка | BAb(oo)shka. In this new multidisciplinary performance, Lublina invites her Russian mother and grandmother (Babushka, who was once a Russian-English translator) onstage to recount their experiences of anti-semitism in the Soviet Union, in Russian. These stories of Jewish resilience transform into scenes with English-speaking actors, dance interpretations choreographed by Elena Rose Light, and a culminating folk tale melding puppetry by Lublina with Jewish Klezmer music by Juilliard-trained composer Julia Danitz.

No Service North of 96th

I’m in a reading this weekend!

“No Service North of 96th” - Daniel Blanda’s wonderful play about friendship, New York, and being pushed to your limit. This play is very dear to my heart- I was a part of the original reading, when it was titled, “Not My God“ two years ago, at the Drama Bookshop, directed by Dr. William Martin.

Come see the latest version with a whole new cast & director, and watch how we are transformed. It’s really truly something special. And I am beyond thrilled & honored to get to work on it.

It’s free theater! No excuses!

_

No Service North Of 96th is a story of instinct and aftermath. Lifelong friends and roommates, Ash and Joyce, live in West Harlem and find that they are in need of a sublet for the month. Becca, having only seen the city from a screen and snow globe, takes the room hoping to transition cleanly into her new career. However, after a hellish introduction, Becca learns that NYC isn't like the New York you see on ‘Good Morning America.’

Hosted by Traguna Productions, as part of their Summer Reading Series, Tickets can be reserved here:

Go Down On Me Or Die

https://www.tallwomentheatre.com/

A project I feel very strongly about is coming to the Barrow Group Theatre as a part of the Performance Artist Residency on the 22nd and 23rd of March 2019 with the following cast members:

Maarit Hara, Marina Gasparyan, Emily Evans, Irina Gorovaia, Ines Choucino Storani, Shane Jensen, Jason Millner, David Joseph Volino, Marianne Goodell (on the 22nd) and Julie Berndt (on the 23rd).

Directed by: Maarit Hara

Go Down On Me Or Die is a female revenge fantasy where men face the consequences for not going down on the women they are sleeping with.

Concept created by Maarit Hara. Written by: Maarit Hara and Marina Gasparyan.

Description: A group of women have had enough of men not paying the price for their selfish actions in bed and have taken matters into their own hands. Go Down On Me Or Die is a dark comedy that explores the absurdity of human behavior. This play is a raw take on female sexual pleasure and the ways that women are conditioned by society to think and speak about sex.
